The problem
What was actually broken.
Attendance in one register, fees in an accounting package, marks in a spreadsheet, and parents informed by whichever teacher had time. Nobody could answer a simple question — how is this student doing — without opening four systems.
The approach
- 01One record per student, with attendance, assessment, scheduling and communication attached to it.
- 02Separate dashboards per role: admin, teacher, student, parent — same data, different questions.
- 03Parent notifications triggered by events rather than by someone remembering to send them.
- 04Term reporting generated from the data already captured, not re-entered at term end.
